Vedashree meaning
Vedashree (वेदश्री) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, वे, it is a Vrishabh rashi name (Mrigashira nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Glory of the Vedas: veda 'sacred knowledge' + śrī 'splendour'
Vedashree (वेदश्री) joins two Sanskrit words: veda, "sacred knowledge" and the name of the Vedas, and śrī, which Monier-Williams gives as light, radiance and beauty, and also prosperity, high rank and a name of Lakshmi. Read together the name means "the splendour of the Vedas", and name lists explain it as "glory of the Vedas". In Sanskrit literature Vedaśrī also appears as the name of a sage in the Mārkaṇḍeya Purāṇa. The name is used mostly in Karnataka and Maharashtra.
