Venkataraman meaning
Venkataraman (வேங்கடராமன்) is a Hindu and Tamil boy's name.
Rama (Vishnu) of the Venkata hill at Tirupati
Venkataraman (வேங்கடராமன்) joins Veṅkaṭa, the sacred hill at Tirupati, with Rama. Monier-Williams describes Veṅkaṭa as a very sacred hill in the Drāviḍa country with a celebrated temple of Vishnu as 'Lord of Veṅkaṭa', and the Tamil Lexicon records vēṅkaṭam as the Tirupati hills, the old northern boundary of the Tamil land. Families devoted to Lord Venkateswara often give the name. It was the birth name of the sage Ramana Maharshi and the name of R. Venkataraman, the eighth President of India.
