Azam meaning
Azam (اعظم) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
Greater, greatest; supreme
Azam (اعظم) is the Arabic aʿẓam, the comparative and superlative of ʿaẓīm, "great". Steingass's dictionary, which records Arabic words in their Persian and Urdu use, gives it as greater or greatest, in size or in rank, and as supreme, as in the title of a grand vizier; in Urdu, vazīr-e-aʿẓam is still the term for a prime minister. The Quran says those who believe and strive are "greater in rank" with God (9:20). Name lists give Azam as "great" or "greatest". It is unrelated to Azm, "resolve".
