Bihari meaning
Bihari (बिहारी) is a Hindu boy's name of Hindi origin (from Sanskrit).
Playful, merry, carefree; a name of Krishna
Also used to mean: one who enjoys, lord krishna
Bihari (बिहारी) is the Hindi form of Sanskrit vihārin. Monier-Williams gives vihārin as roaming for pleasure, delighting in something, and charming or beautiful, and Platts' Hindi dictionary gives bihārī as playful, lively and merry, and as a name of Krishna. It is best known in compounds such as Banke Bihari, the Krishna of Vrindavan's famous temple, and Atal Bihari. Baby-name lists give it as "one who enjoys" or as Krishna. Bihari, the seventeenth-century poet of the Satsai, made it famous in Hindi literature. The same word also means a person from Bihar.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Krishna.
