Gajanan meaning
Gajanan (गजानन) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Marathi usage).
Elephant-faced; a name of Ganesha
Also used to mean: Lord Ganesha
Gajanan (गजानन) joins Sanskrit gaja, "elephant", and ānana, "face". Monier-Williams treats gajānana as the same as gajamukha, "elephant-faced", a name of Gaṇeśa. It is one of the most familiar titles of Ganesha. Name lists give it as "elephant-faced" or Lord Ganesha, which matches. The name is used mainly in Maharashtra, where Gajanan Maharaj of Shegaon (died 1910) is revered as a saint. Gajanand is a northern variant.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Ganesha.
