Lalit meaning
Lalit (ललित) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Charming, graceful, lovely; playful
Lalit (ललित) is the Sanskrit lalita, a word Monier-Williams gives first as "sported, played, playing". From play it moves to a cluster of gentle senses: artless, innocent, soft, gentle, charming and lovely, and also amorous or quivering. As a noun lalita means grace, charm and artlessness. The dictionary records Lalita as a hand position in dance and as a musical rāga, and the feminine Lalitā as a form of the goddess Durgā and a name of one of the Gopīs. Indian name lists give Lalit as "beautiful", "charming" or "graceful", which matches the dictionary, and the girl's name Lalita is its feminine form.
