Nadira meaning
Nadira (نادرہ) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin.
Extraordinary, rare, unusual; a rare thing
Also used to mean: precious
Nadira (نادرہ) is the feminine of Arabic nādir, from the root n-d-r, "to come out from among others". Lane's lexicon explains that the word is used for anything that stands apart from the ordinary: extraordinary, strange, rare or unusual, with nādira as the feminine and nadra meaning rareness. Name lists give Nadira as "rare" or "precious", which fits the dictionary well. The boys' name Nadir comes from the same word. The best-known bearer in India is the actress Nadira, born Florence Ezekiel in Baghdad, who starred in Shree 420 and Pakeezah and took Nadira as her screen name.
