Radhakanta meaning
Radhakanta (राधाकांत) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Odia usage). By its first sound, रा, it is a Tula rashi name (Chitra nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Lover of Rādhā, a name of Krishna
Radhakanta (राधाकांत, Odia ରାଧାକାନ୍ତ) is Sanskrit rādhākānta, "lover of Rādhā", which Monier-Williams lists as a name of Krishna. Its second part, kānta, means beloved or lovely, and as a noun a lover or husband. The name grew out of the devotion to Radha and Krishna that runs deep in Odisha and Bengal, where Jayadeva's Gita Govinda celebrates their love. Monier-Williams also records it as the name of two Sanskrit authors. A well-known bearer is Raja Radhakanta Deb of Calcutta, who compiled the Sanskrit encyclopaedic dictionary Shabdakalpadruma. Outside eastern India the name is usually written Radhakant.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Krishna.
