Rafiuddin meaning
Rafiuddin (رفیع الدین) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
Exalted one of the faith (rafīʿ + al-dīn)
Also used to mean: exalted in the faith, noble follower of Islam
Rafiuddin (رفیع الدین) joins Arabic rafīʿ, "high, exalted", with al-dīn, "of the faith". Lane's lexicon gives rafīʿ as high or eminent in rank or condition, noble and honourable, and dīn as obedience and religion. The name therefore means "exalted one of the faith"; name lists give looser glosses such as "noble follower of Islam". A well-known Indian bearer is Shah Rafiuddin (1749–1817) of Delhi, a son of Shah Waliullah, whose word-for-word Urdu rendering of the Quran was among the first complete Urdu translations.
