Rasagna meaning
Rasagna (रसज्ञा) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin (Telugu usage).
Knowing and appreciating tastes; one who understands the rasas
Rasagna (रसज्ञा, Telugu రసజ్ఞ) comes from Sanskrit rasajña, joining rasa, "taste, flavour, essence", which in poetics also means the mood or sentiment of a work of art, with -jña, "knowing". Monier-Williams gives rasajña as knowing or appreciating tastes and familiar with something, and as a noun for a poet who understands the rasas; the feminine rasajñā is also a word for the tongue, the organ that knows taste. In the Lalita Sahasranama, Rasajñā is the 799th name of the goddess, praising her as the one who knows every rasa, and it follows Kāvyakalā, "the art of poetry". The spelling follows Telugu speech, which says Sanskrit jña as "gna", as in Manogna. Baby-name lists give it other meanings that we could not confirm.
