Rashmirekha meaning
Rashmirekha (रश्मिरेखा) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin (Odia usage).
A line of light; raśmi, "ray of light", with rekhā, "line"
Rashmirekha (ରଶ୍ମିରେଖା, Sanskrit रश्मिरेखा) joins raśmi and rekhā. In the Vedas raśmi first meant a cord, rein or rope, and later a ray of light or a beam; it is the same word as the name Rashmi. Rekhā is a scratch, streak, stripe or line, and also a continuous row or series. Together they describe a line of light, like a sunbeam breaking through cloud. Monier-Williams does not list the compound as a single word, so its meaning is read from its two parts. The name is used mainly in Odia families, who also write it as two words, Rashmi Rekha, and like Sasirekha it belongs to the family of names ending in -rekha.
