Samhita meaning
Samhita (संहिता) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Union, connection; a methodically arranged collection of texts, esp. the Vedic hymns
Samhita (संहिता) is the Sanskrit word saṃhitā, from saṃ-hita, "put together, joined". Monier-Williams gives its first sense as conjunction, connection or union, and its best-known sense as the continuous text of a Veda: the Ṛgveda, Sāmaveda, Yajurveda and Atharvaveda Saṃhitās are the oldest collections of Hindu hymns. More broadly a saṃhitā is any carefully arranged collection of verses, such as the medical Caraka Saṃhitā, and Monier-Williams also records the lovely sense "the force which holds together and supports the universe". As a girl's name it is especially used in South India, often spelled Samhitha.
