Snigdha meaning
Snigdha (स्निग्धा) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Tender, affectionate; soft, gentle; lovely, charming; glossy
Snigdha (स्निग्धा) is the feminine of Sanskrit snigdha, from snih, a verb that means both "to be sticky or oily" and "to feel affection". Monier-Williams lists the literal senses first (smooth, glossy, oily) and then the figurative ones: affectionate, tender and friendly; soft, mild and gentle; lovely, agreeable and charming. Kalidasa uses it for something "glossy, resplendent". Name lists give Snigdha as "affectionate" or "smooth", both of which the dictionary supports. The name is used in Bengal, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh.
