Swarnim (स्वर्णिम) is a modern Hindi word and name meaning "golden". It is built on Sanskrit svarṇa, which Monier-Williams records as gold, a shortened form of suvarṇa, literally "of a good colour". The adjective svarṇim itself is a later Hindi formation, used in phrases such as svarṇim yug, "golden age", and we could not find it in the older dictionaries, so we cannot cite an exact entry. Name lists give Swarnim as "golden", which fits its root. Its feminine form, Swarnima, is used for girls.
