Vendhan meaning
Vendhan (வேந்தன்) is a Tamil boy's name.
King, ruler; also Indra
Vendhan (வேந்தன்) is the classical Tamil word for a king. The Tamil Lexicon of the University of Madras gives vēntaṉ as Indra, the king of the gods, and as a king or ruler, and also lists the sun, the moon and the planet Jupiter among its senses. In Sangam poetry the plural vēntar was reserved for the three crowned dynasties, the Chera, Chola and Pandya, the mūvēntar, so the word carries real weight. As a modern pure-Tamil boys' name it is short and strong, and it also appears in compounds such as Tamilvendhan.
