Angana meaning
Angana (अंगना) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, अ, it is a Mesh rashi name (Krittika nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
A woman (literally, one with well-rounded limbs)
Also used to mean: beautiful woman
Angana (अंगना) is the Sanskrit aṅganā, a word for a woman that Monier-Williams explains as one with well-rounded, graceful limbs, from aṅga, "limb, body". It became a common poetic word for any woman, and the dictionary also lists it as the sign Virgo and as the female elephant that guards the north. Name lists give it as "beautiful woman", which follows the original sense. It is a different word from aṅgana, "yard, court", the source of Hindi āṅgan, "courtyard". The name is used in Bengal and across North India.
