Balram meaning
Balram (बलराम) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Elder brother of Krishna; from bala, 'strength', and Rāma
Also used to mean: strong rama
Balram (बलराम) is the Hindi form of Sanskrit Balarāma, made of bala, "strength, might", and Rāma. Monier-Williams records Balarāma as the elder brother of Kṛṣṇa and the third of the Rāmas, sometimes counted as the eighth avatar of Viṣṇu or as an incarnation of the serpent Śeṣa. He is also called Baladeva, Balabhadra and Halāyudha, "armed with the plough". Baby-name lists often render the name as "strong Rama", a literal reading of the parts. Balram Jakhar, the long-serving Speaker of the Lok Sabha, carried the name.
