Chitrasen meaning
Chitrasen (चित्रसेन) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
'having a bright spear'; a king of the Gandharvas
Chitrasen (चित्रसेन) is Sanskrit citra-sena, from citra, "bright", and senā, which in the Vedas means a dart or spear and later an army. Monier-Williams gives "having a bright spear", from the Ṛg-veda, and records Citrasena as the leader of the Gandharvas, the heavenly musicians, son of Viśvāvasu. In the Mahābhārata Chitrasena teaches Arjuna music and dance in Indra's heaven, and later captures Duryodhana in the forest. Baby-name lists give the name as "king of the Gandharvas". It is a well-grounded choice for families who love music.
