Divisha (दिविशा) is a modern name. Indian name lists most often give it as "goddess Durga" or "chief of the goddesses", and some as "lord of the gods" or "divine ruler", explaining it as divi, "heaven", joined with īśā, "mistress, ruler". These are reasonable readings of the parts, but the name itself does not appear in the classical dictionaries, so we cannot give it a sourced meaning. Its root div, which Monier-Williams gives as heaven and the sky, also gives divya, "divine". In 2022 the television actors Debina Bonnerjee and Gurmeet Choudhary chose it for their daughter.
