Fazila meaning
Fazila (فاضلہ) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin (Urdu usage).
Excelling, possessing excellence; virtuous, learned
Also used to mean: excellent
Fazila (فاضلہ) is the feminine of Arabic fāḍil, from the root f-ḍ-l, "to exceed, to excel"; in Urdu the Arabic ḍ is pronounced z. Lane's lexicon gives fāḍil as excelling, or possessing faḍl, "excellence, merit", and notes its later sense of learned. Faḍl is also God's bounty in the Quran. The closely related faḍīla, "an excellence, a virtue", gives the name Fazeela. Name lists give Fazila as "virtuous", "excellent" or "learned", in line with the dictionary. The masculine form is Fazil.
