Irshad meaning
Irshad (ارشاد) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin (Urdu usage).
Guiding someone to the right way; guidance, direction
Irshad (ارشاد) is Arabic irshād, from arshada, "to guide aright", in the root r-sh-d that also gives Rashid and Arshad. Lane's lexicon defines rashada as following the right way, in a road or in conduct, and arshada as leading someone onto it, said of God or of anyone with authority. In Urdu irshād also means an instruction or a saying of an elder, and at a mushaira listeners call out "irshād!", "please recite". Name lists give "guidance" or "direction", which matches. The name is carried by the lyricist Irshad Kamil.
