Jigyasa meaning
Jigyasa (जिज्ञासा) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Desire to know, curiosity; inquiry, investigation
Jigyasa (जिज्ञासा) is the Sanskrit jijñāsā, a desiderative form of the verb jñā, "to know", so it means "the wish to know". Apte's dictionary gives curiosity and inquisitiveness, and also investigation, examination or testing. In Indian philosophy the word has a special place: the Brahma Sutras open with athāto brahma-jijñāsā, "now, therefore, the inquiry into Brahman". Name lists give it as "curiosity", matching the dictionary. Hindi pronounces it jigyāsā, while Gujarati and Marathi speakers often say jignāsā.
