Kshitija meaning
Kshitija (क्षितिजा) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Earth-born; a name of Sita; (kṣitija) the horizon
Also used to mean: born of the earth
Kshitija (क्षितिजा) is made of Sanskrit kṣiti, "the earth", and -ja, "born", so it means "born of the earth". Monier-Williams records kṣitijā as a name of Sita, who in the Ramayana was found in a furrow of the earth, and gives the neuter kṣitija as the horizon, the line where earth meets sky. Name lists give "horizon" and "born of the earth", both found in the dictionary. The boys' name Kshitij comes from the same word.
