Shatakshi meaning
Shatakshi (शताक्षी) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Hundred-eyed; a name of Durgā; night
Also used to mean: goddess durga
Shatakshi (शताक्षी) is the Sanskrit śatākṣī, from śata, "a hundred", and akṣi, "eye", so "hundred-eyed". Monier-Williams records it as a name of Durgā from the Mārkaṇḍeya Purāṇa, the text of the Devī Māhātmya, where the goddess promises to appear with a hundred eyes to look upon her people in a time of drought; the old lexicons also give it as a poetic word for the night and as the name of dill. Name lists give "hundred-eyed" and "goddess Durga", both of which match the dictionary. The name is used across North India, sometimes spelled Satakshi.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Durga.
