Nazia meaning
Nazia (نازیہ) is a Muslim girl's name of Persian origin.
From nāz: pride, glory; coquettish charm; delicacy
Also used to mean: proud, delicate, graceful
Nazia (نازیہ) is built on Persian nāz, which Steingass glosses as glory or pride, the playful coquetry of lovers, and elegance or delicacy, with the feminine ending -iya found in many South Asian names. Nāziya itself is not a Steingass headword, so its meaning is read from nāz. Name lists today give "proud", "delicate" or "graceful", all of which fit the root word. Nāz also gives the names Naz and Gulnaz. The best-known bearer is Nazia Hassan (1965–2000), the Pakistani pop singer who sang "Aap Jaisa Koi" for the Indian film Qurbani (1980) and became the first Pakistani to win a Filmfare Award.
