Shivendra meaning
Shivendra (शिवेन्द्र) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Śiva the chief (śiva + indra 'chief, best')
Also used to mean: lord shiva, shiva and indra
Shivendra (शिवेन्द्र) joins Śiva with Sanskrit indra, which Monier-Williams gives at the end of a compound as "best, chief, first", so the name reads "Shiva the chief" or "lord Shiva". The same pattern gives names such as Mahendra and Surendra. Some name lists read it instead as Shiva and Indra together, which the grammar allows but which is less usual for names of this kind. Śivendra is not itself a dictionary entry, so it is a later formation.
