Zaira meaning
Zaira (زائرہ) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin.
A visitor; (in Muslim usage) one who visits a shrine or holy place
Also used to mean: guest
Zaira (زائرہ) is the feminine of Arabic zāʾir, from zāra, "to visit". Lane's lexicon gives zāʾir as a person visiting, a visitor, and records the feminine zāʾira. In Indian Muslim usage a zāʾir is especially a pilgrim who makes ziyārat, a visit to a holy place such as a shrine; the Quran uses the same verb in "until you visit the graves" (102:2). Name lists give Zaira as "visitor" or "guest"; a few say "flower", which belongs to a different word, zahra. A well-known bearer is the actress Zaira Wasim.
