Zareen (زریں) is a Muslim girl's name of Persian origin.
Golden
Zareen (زریں) is the Persian zarrīn, "golden", from zar, "gold", with the ending -īn that forms adjectives. Steingass's Persian dictionary gives it simply as golden, and lists poetic compounds on the next page, such as zarīn-nargisa, "golden narcissi", for the stars, and zarīn-humāy, "the golden huma bird", for the sun. Name lists give Zareen as "golden", exactly the dictionary sense. A well-known bearer is the actress Zareen Khan.
