Bharati meaning
Bharati (भारती) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, भा, it is a Dhanu rashi name (Mula nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Speech, eloquence; a goddess later identified with Saraswati
Bharati (भारती) is the Sanskrit bhāratī, the feminine of bhārata. Monier-Williams describes Bhāratī as a goddess of the Rigveda, invoked together with Iḷā and Sarasvatī, who was later identified with Sarasvatī, the goddess of learning. The dictionary also gives the senses "speech, voice" and "eloquence", which belong naturally to that goddess. Name lists give Bharati as "Goddess Saraswati" or "eloquence", matching the dictionary, and some also connect it with India, Bhārat. The name is used for girls, as with the novelist Bharati Mukherjee, and it is also borne by men as a title or surname, most famously by the Tamil poet Subramania Bharati, regarded as the father of the modern Tamil literary style.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Saraswati.
