Darshan meaning
Darshan (दर्शन) is a Hindu and Sikh boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Seeing, sight, vision; an audience; a philosophical system
Darshan (दर्शन) comes from Sanskrit darśana, from the verb dṛś, "to see". Monier-Williams lists a wide range of senses: seeing, observing and perception; eyesight; inspection, a visit, an audience or meeting; understanding and judgement; and a view or doctrine, especially one of the six classical systems of Indian philosophy such as Nyāya and Sāṃkhya. In everyday religious life darshan is the seeing of a deity or a holy person, which is why families going to a temple say they are going for darshan. Name lists give Darshan as "vision" or "sight". The name is used by Hindu and Sikh families.
