Dayyan meaning
Dayyan (دیان) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
A requiter of deeds; a judge, ruler; al-Dayyān, applied to God
Dayyan (دیان) is Arabic dayyān, from the root d-y-n, which also gives dīn, "religion". Lane's lexicon defines dayyān as a requiter who overlooks no deed but repays it with good or with evil, and also as a judge, a ruler or governor, and a manager of affairs. With the article, al-Dayyān, the word is applied to God, the Judge who repays every deed. Name lists give "judge" or "ruler", which matches the dictionary. In India the name is also spelled Dayan and Daiyan.
