Deepesh meaning
Deepesh (दीपेश) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, दी, it is a Meen rashi name (Purva Bhadrapada nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Lord of light, lord of the lamp
Deepesh (दीपेश) joins dīpa, which Monier-Williams gives as a light, lamp or lantern, with īśa, "master, lord". Sanskrit joins dīpa and īśa into dīpeśa, giving "lord of light" or "lord of the lamp", and that is the meaning Indian name lists give. Some lists connect it with Surya, the sun, as the greatest light, but that is an association rather than part of the word. The compound itself is not in the classical dictionaries, so it is a modern name made in the same way as Dinesh, Devesh and Mahesh. It is used across North and West India and in Nepal, also spelled Dipesh.
