Devanshi meaning
Devanshi (देवांशी) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, दे, it is a Meen rashi name (Revati nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
A portion of a god; a partial incarnation of a deity
Devanshi (देवांशी) is a feminine form of Sanskrit devāṃśa, a compound of deva, "god", and aṃśa, "share, portion". Monier-Williams records devāṃśa as a share of a god, that is, a partial incarnation of a deity, citing the Kathāsaritsāgara. The feminine devāṃśī is not itself in the dictionary, so the girls' name is a modern formation, the counterpart of the boys' name Devansh. Name lists give "divine portion" or "part of God", which match the dictionary sense. The idea behind it is old: the epics often describe their heroes as born from a portion of a god, and the name carries that sense of something divine in a person.
