Hari meaning
Hari (हरि) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Tawny, yellowish, green; a name of Vishnu-Krishna
Hari (हरि) is one of the oldest names of Viṣṇu. Monier-Williams gives the Sanskrit word first as a colour, fawn, tawny, pale yellow or green, and then as a name of Viṣṇu-Kṛṣṇa, as well as of Indra, the sun and the wind, and a word for a lion, a horse or a monkey. Devotional tradition, following Ādi Śaṅkara's commentary on the Viṣṇu Sahasranāma, reads Hari as "he who takes away" sins, linking it to the verb hṛ, "to seize"; Hari is the 650th name in that hymn. In the Guru Granth Sahib, Hari is also used frequently as a name for the one God.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Vishnu.
