Mohak (मोहक) is Sanskrit mohaka, from moha, "bewilderment, infatuation". Monier-Williams gives the adjective as bewildering, confusing and infatuating, and even as leading into ignorance or folly, the sense of moha in religious texts as the delusion that clouds judgement. In modern Hindi the word has softened, and mohak now means charming or fascinating, as in mohak muskaan, a captivating smile. Name lists give "charming" or "attractive", which is the modern Hindi sense rather than the older Sanskrit one. The name belongs to the same family as Mohan and Mohit.
