Pragati meaning
Pragati (प्रगति) is a Hindu girl's name of Hindi origin (from Sanskrit).
Moving forward, progress, advancement
Pragati (प्रगति) is a modern Hindi word made from Sanskrit parts: pra-, "forward", and gati, "going, movement". The Hindī Śabdasāgara defines it as moving forward, progress, and advancement or improvement, and lists related words such as pragatiśīla, "progressive". The older Sanskrit dictionaries do not record it, so it belongs to the vocabulary of modern Hindi, where it is used in everyday speech, newspapers and the names of schemes and institutions. Name lists give "progress", which matches. Pragathi is the usual South Indian spelling.
