Qadeer meaning
Qadeer (قدیر) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
All-powerful; one who does whatever he wills
Also used to mean: capable
Qadeer (قدیر) is the Arabic qadīr, an intensive form from the root q-d-r, "power". Lane's lexicon treats it with qādir, "possessing power or ability", and records the view that qadīr is stronger in sense: the one who does whatever he wills, exactly as wisdom requires, which is why some scholars apply it to God alone. The Quran repeats the phrase "God has power over all things" (2:20) many times. Name lists give Qadeer as "powerful" or "capable". In practice the name is usually given as Abdul Qadeer, "servant of the All-Powerful", though Qadeer alone is also used.
