Salima meaning
Salima (سلیمہ) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin.
Safe, secure, sound; free from evils of every kind
Also used to mean: peaceful
Salima (سلیمہ) is the feminine of Arabic salīm, from the root s-l-m, which also gives salām, "peace", and islām. Lane's lexicon defines salīm as safe, secure or free from evils of any kind. In the Quran, the one who comes to God "with a sound heart", bi-qalbin salīm, is saved (26:89); Lane explains it as a heart free from unbelief and unsoundness. Name lists give Salima as "safe", "sound" or "peaceful", which the dictionary supports. The masculine is Salim, and Salma is a related name.
