Subhamoy meaning
Subhamoy (शुभमय) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Bengali usage).
Splendid, beautiful; literally full of what is good
Subhamoy (शुभमय, Bengali শুভময়) combines Sanskrit śubha, "bright, splendid, auspicious, good", with -maya, a suffix meaning "made of" or "full of". Monier-Williams records śubhamaya as "splendid, beautiful". In Bengali śubha is the everyday word for what is good and auspicious, and the Samsad dictionary glosses it as weal, well-being and the good, so the name is heard as "full of goodness". The ending -moy is the Bengali pronunciation of -maya, the same ending found in Tanmoy, Mrinmoy and Hiranmoy, which is why so many Bengali boys' names end this way.
