Sulekha meaning
Sulekha (सुलेखा) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Fine line or writing: su-, good, + lekhā, line, writing
Sulekha (सुलेखा) joins su-, "good, beautiful", with lekhā. Monier-Williams gives lekhā as "a streak, line, stroke", the faint streak of the new moon, "drawing" and "writing, handwriting". The compound sulekhā is not a dictionary entry of its own, but the reading "beautiful writing" or "a fine line" follows naturally, and in Hindi sulekh is the word for good handwriting. Name lists agree on "good writing". The name is used across India and is close in sense to Surekha, "a beautiful line".
