Sultana meaning
Sultana (سلطانہ) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin (Urdu usage).
An empress, a queen; feminine of sulṭān
Sultana (سلطانہ) is the feminine of sulṭān. Lane's lexicon defines the Arabic sulṭān first as strength, might and power, then as sovereign or ruling power, and so the one who holds it, a king or governor. Platts's Urdu dictionary gives sulṭāna as an empress or queen. Name lists give it as "queen", in line with the dictionaries. The most famous bearer in India is Raziya, who ruled the Delhi Sultanate from 1236 to 1240 and is widely remembered as Razia Sultana.
