Muneera meaning

Muneera (منیرہ) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin (Urdu usage).

Shining, giving light, bright (feminine of munīr)

Muneera (منیرہ) is the feminine of the Arabic munīr, from the root n-w-r, which gives nūr, "light". Lane's lexicon gives munīr, with nayyir, as giving light, shining or bright, and also as beautiful in colour and bright. The Quran uses munīr for the moon, "a shining moon" (25:61), and for the Prophet, "a light-giving lamp" (33:46). Name lists give Muneera as "luminous" or "shining", in line with the dictionary. It is the female counterpart of Muneer and is used by Muslim families across India.
