Tanveer meaning
Tanveer (تنویر) is a Muslim and Sikh boy's name of Arabic origin.
Giving light; the brightening of dawn; also a tree's blossoming
Also used to mean: enlightenment, illumination, radiant
Tanveer (تنویر) is the Arabic tanwīr, the verbal noun of nawwara, from nūr, "light". Lane's lexicon gives nawwara as to give light or shine, and records tanwīr for the time when the dawn has grown bright; the same verb is used of a tree putting out its blossoms. Name lists give "enlightenment" or "illumination". In India Muslim families use the name and, often spelled Tanvir, Sikh and Punjabi families too, some of whom read it as tan, "body", and vīr, "brave". The theatre director Habib Tanvir took it as his pen name.
