Bhuvana meaning
Bhuvana (भुवना) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin (Telugu, Kannada and Tamil usage).
A being, mankind; the world, the earth
Bhuvana (भुवना; Telugu భువన, Kannada ಭುವನಾ, Tamil புவனா) is the Sanskrit word bhuvana, from the root bhū, "to be, to become". Monier-Williams gives it as a being or living creature, mankind, and the world or the earth, usually counted as three worlds. Kittel's Kannada dictionary records the same word, with compounds such as bhuvana-traya, the three worlds of heaven, sky and earth, and bhuvana-māte, "mother of the world", a title of Parvati or Lakshmi. Name lists give Bhuvana as "earth" or "the world", which matches the dictionaries. In Sanskrit the word is neuter, but in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu it is a girls' name, and Bhuvan is the boys' form. The 1977 Tamil film Bhuvana Oru Kelvi Kuri is named after its heroine.
