Durgadas meaning
Durgadas (दुर्गादास) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Servant of Durga; a personal name
Also used to mean: devotee of Durga
Durgadas (दुर्गादास) joins Durgā, the warrior goddess, with dāsa, "servant", which in names means a devotee. Monier-Williams records Durgādāsa as the name of a scholar who commented on Vopadeva's grammar, of a physician and of a prince. Indian name lists give "servant of Durga" or "devotee of Durga". Names of this pattern, such as Ramdas, Krishnadas and Kalidas, express devotion to a chosen deity. Its most famous bearer is Durgadas Rathore, the seventeenth-century Rajput general who protected the infant heir of Marwar against the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.
