Hameeda meaning
Hameeda (حمیدہ) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin.
Praised, praiseworthy, commendable (feminine of ḥamīd)
Also used to mean: thankful
Hameeda (حمیدہ) is the feminine of Arabic ḥamīd, from the root ḥ-m-d, "to praise". Lane's lexicon defines ḥamīd as praised, well spoken of, praiseworthy or commendable, noting that it carries both senses at once. The same root gives ḥamd, praise, as in al-ḥamdu lillāh, and the names Ahmad and Muhammad. Name lists give Hameeda as "praiseworthy", and some as "thankful". Hamida Banu Begum, wife of the emperor Humayun, was the mother of Akbar.
