Lakshmish meaning
Lakshmish (लक्ष्मीश) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Kannada usage).
Lord of Lakshmi, a name of Vishnu; also a prosperous man
Lakshmish (लक्ष्मीश) joins the goddess's name Lakṣmī with Sanskrit īśa, "ruler, master, lord", so it means "lord of Lakshmi", a title of Vishnu, her consort. Monier-Williams records lakṣmīśa as a name of Vishnu and, more loosely, as "a prosperous man"; it also lists the mango tree and a measure in music. Name lists give "lord of Lakshmi", which matches. The name has a special place in Kannada, where it is also written Lakshmisha or Lakshmeesha: Lakshmisa was the Kannada poet of the Jaimini Bharata, a retelling of the Mahabharata's horse-sacrifice story in six-line shatpadi verse. His dates are debated, and many scholars place him in the sixteenth century.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Vishnu.
