Lalarukh meaning
Lalarukh (لالہ رخ) is a Muslim girl's name of Persian origin (Urdu usage).
Tulip-cheeked
Lalarukh (لالہ رخ) is a Persian compound of lāla, "tulip", and rukh, "cheek" or "face". Steingass's dictionary gives lāla-rukh as "tulip-cheeked", one of many lāla compounds used in Persian poetry for a beautiful face, and notes that lāla can mean any wild flower. In Urdu verse the tulip's red cheek is a familiar image of beauty. The name reached English readers through Thomas Moore's 1817 poem Lalla Rookh, whose heroine is a Mughal princess. Name lists give the meaning as "tulip-cheeked", matching the dictionary. It is used by Urdu-speaking families in India and Pakistan.
