Prabhakar meaning
Prabhakar (प्रभाकर) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Light-maker: the sun; also the moon, fire, and a name of Śiva
Prabhakar (प्रभाकर) is the Sanskrit prabhākara, literally "light-maker": prabhā means light or splendour and -kara means one who makes. Monier-Williams gives the sun as its chief meaning, and also the moon, fire and a name of Shiva. The best-known bearer in Indian thought is Prabhākara, the early medieval teacher whose school of Mīmāṃsā philosophy carries his name. The name is used across India, including Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, and is also used as a surname.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Surya.
