Anas meaning
Anas (انس) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
Friendliness, sociable companionship; the opposite of loneliness
Also used to mean: affection
Anas (انس) is the Arabic anas, from the root ʾ-n-s. Lane's lexicon explains the verb anisa as becoming sociable, friendly and familiar with someone, or being cheered by their company, and gives anas and uns as its nouns, the opposite of waḥsha, "loneliness" or "wildness"; some lexicographers add ease of heart. As a noun anas can also mean "people". Name lists give Anas as "friendliness" or "affection". The name is borne by Anas ibn Mālik, who served the Prophet as a boy and became one of the main narrators of hadith.
